OKARA: Former PPP MNA Advocate Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed Majhiana passed away after brief ailment on Sunday. He was 88.
Advocate Majhiana, who was founder member of the party, joined the PPP in 1968 and worked very hard for its cause.
He remained PPP Sahiwal district president and later Okara’s party chief.
He was elected MNA in 1977 and being a staunch supporter of democracy, had served four years in jail during the Zia Marshal Law.
He was among those who had refused to join the Majlisa-i- Shura at that time.
He was laid to rest at his native village Moza Kohllah after the funeral prayers that were attended by a number of people including PPP former provincial minister Haji Muhammad Yaar Khan Lashari, Alam Shair Khan Lodhi, Punjab Bar Council member Akhtar Hussain Bhatti, Chamber Of Commerce and Industry former president Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad Iqbal.
